If you plan on making a backyard pond and live where it gets very cold during the winter, make sure that you make it deep enough for your fish. They go to the bottom of the pond and just sort of lie dormant, but come back strong and healthy in the spring.

You'll notice with your backyard pond that each year it will get more and more natural looking as it gets established.
