Pond Water Pumps

Pond water pumps are one of the most important parts to having a great pond.

Their one purpose is to move water.  These pumps generally run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you need something dependable.

There are quite a few pond pumps on the market. Big, small, submersible, external, self priming, etc.  For this article, I am going to tell you about pumps that work really well for just a regular backyard pond, let's say anywhere from 200 to 3000 gallons.  Really that's what this site is all about. I'm not talking about some huge pond.

Some of the name brands of pond water pumps include:
Quiet One
Pondmaster Mag Drive
Tetra
Max-Flo
Laguna

The pond water pump I'm going to go over with you and highly recommend that you should consider is the Pondmaster Mag Drive. Why? Because in the fifteen years that I have had my pond, it's the only kind I've ever used.  I'm not saying it should be the only kind to get, but from my experiences with them, they're outstanding.

Pondmaster Mag Drive pond pumps come in different sizes depending on how much water you want to move.  They are, as well as other pumps, rated at the amount of gallons per hour they can move.  The Mag Drive comes in different ratings from 475 to 1800 gallons per hour.

The thing about this pump is that it has only one moving part in it and that’s the impeller, which is simple to replace if you ever need to.

They Work Really Well & Last A Long Time

A word about their dependability:

I really hate to hype things up about anything, but I have to tell you, if you can find a better pump for your backyard pond, then get it.

I've had my backyard pond for about 15 years now and I still have my first original Mag Drive Pump and it still works.  I'm talking about a pump that basically runs 24/7 for about 7 months out of the year.  I have another that's not as old and still works great.  The only thing I had to do was replace the impeller in each of them once. Very easy to do, took about 2 minutes.

These pumps are great to use with your filtration system and waterfall. If you need a pond pump, get a good quality one like this one, you won't regret it. That's the word about water pond pumps.
