UV Pond Filter
Having a UV pond filter is one of the most important things to have for your pond if you want nice, clear water.
Sure you need a regular pond filter to help trap debris, but if you want your water to be clear, you’ll need a UV pond filter.
These aren’t actually filters, they are UV lights encased in a tube that your pond water flows through. As the water passes through these, the UV light kills the algae in the water. Over the course of a short time, your pond will begin to clear up.
This is the only way that I know of that you will be able to get clear water in your pond. There were times when we almost gave up on our pond because the water was so green, especially when it got really warm outside. Once we discovered these UV lights, it’s been great. We’re able to see the bottom of the pond, after just a short time using it.
Once you get your algae problem under control and continue using the UV pond filter, your water should stay clear for you the rest of the summer. If you get a real warm spell, which promotes algae growth, you’ll get a little green, however it will clear up.
As the algae starts to die, they start to clump together, and that’s where your regular pond filter does its job. So the rule of thumb is, if you want clear water, get yourself a UV pond filter. The UV pond filter that I would recommend to you is the Laguna Powerclear Max which can found below.
